Dr. Onye Nnorom is a Family Doctor and a Public Health & Preventive Medicine specialist. She is the Associate Program Director of the Public Health & Preventive Medicine Residency Program at the University of Toronto and is the Black Health Theme Lead for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. As the Black Health Theme Lead, she is tasked with developing educational content for teaching medical students about Black Canadian health, and inequities due to systemic racism. She is also a clinical consultant for the Nicotine Dependence Clinic at Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. She is the Past President of the Black Physicians’ Association of Ontario. From 2013-2018, she was also the chronic disease prevention lead at TAIBU Community Health Centre, where she led a number of successful cancer screening initiatives. Most recently she has taken the role as the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Lead, within the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. And she is the host of a podcast called Race, Health and Happiness where she interviews successful Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color, providing wisdom on how to stay well in a “racialized world”. Dr. Nnorom completed her medical degree at McGill University and then completed a Masters of Public Health (Epidemiology) and residency training at the University of Toronto. Being of Nigerian and Trinidadian heritage, she is particularly interested in Black community health and wellness, and racism as a social determinant of health.

Adrienne Lindblad completed her pharmacy degree from the University of Saskatchewan, her hospital pharmacy residency in Halifax, and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Toronto. In her current role as the Clinical Evidence Expert Lead for the College of Family Physicians of Canada and as a member of PEER, Adrienne is involved with a variety of educational initiatives for primary care, including the popular Tools for Practice and PEER’s Simplified Guidelines programs. She is also an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta and has won numerous awards for her work. She is passionate about evidence-based medicine and translating evidence into practice.

Dr. Tessa Laubscher earned her medical degree at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She emigrated to Canada in 1991 and began practising family medicine in Saskatchewan. Over the years she developed interests in diabetes, healthcare quality improvement and education, becoming involved in numerous diabetes-related activities in Saskatchewan and nationally. Dr. Laubscher “retired” from family medicine in 2018, embarking on the next phase of her career as a diabetes medical specialist, working primarily in Saskatoon.

Debbie Bunka is an RxFiles Academic Detailer based out of Regina. She has worked on contract with the RxFiles team in various capacities since 2010. She enjoys providing evidence-based practice tips to clinicians, encouraging thoughtful comparison of medications, and building critical thinking around prescribing. One day per week Debbie supports a Saskatchewan Health Authority primary care clinic in Moose Jaw, where she provides comprehensive medication reviews and offers drug information support.

Joelynne Radbourne (BSN’12) (MN-NP’19) is a nurse practitioner (NP) at Cresecent View Clinic in Moosejaw, SK, providing urgent care management. She spent the last 4 years working at All Nations’ Healing Hospital in Fort Qu’Appelle, SK, specializing in Women’s Health and Infectious Disease. She believes the field of medicine is ever-changing, requiring providers to complete self-education to remain current with updated guidelines. Examples of personal opportunities have included a membership with the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada and Saskatchewan Infectious Disease Care Network (SIDCN), comprising of various education including approved prescribing for HIV and Hepatitis C treatment. In April 2021, Joelynne was recognized by the International Nurses Association as a Top Nurse Practitioner. Additionally, she was recently appointed to the regulatory council for the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan and is a faculty member with the College of Nursing at the University of Regina.

Carla completed her medical degree at the University of Saskatchewan in 2010 and remained in Saskatoon to complete her Family Medicine residency. After residency, she joined a fee-for-service practice at Kenderdine Medical Clinic. In 2016, she joined the U of S Department of Academic Family Medicine at the West Winds Primary Health Centre. Dr. Holinaty is passionate about Family Medicine and enjoys acting as an advocate for the profession. She currently serves as the Vice Present of the Saskatoon Regional Medical Association, the Chair of the Section of Family Practice, a Saskatoon delegate to the SMA Representative Assembly, and a member of the SMA Board of Directors.

A practicing engineer, Dr. Brown Broderick later shifted to medicine, graduating from the University of Alberta in 2009. Having completed her residency and fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Ottawa, she practiced for 4 years in Rochester, NY before returning to Canada in July 2020. She is currently a practicing gynecologic oncologist in Saskatoon and assistant professor of oncology at the University of Saskatchewan Dr. Brown Broderick currently directs several clinical trials as primary site investigator, including Saskatchewan’s first ever clinical trial in gynecologic oncology: International Validation Study of Sentinel Node Biopsy in Early Cervical Cancer SENTICOL III/CX6. Along with other industry led clinical trials, Dr. Brown Broderick’s project “Human Papilloma Virus Self-Sampling for Primary Cervical Cancer Screening in Underserved Saskatchewan Women” was recently awarded the RUH Foundation’s Women Leading Philanthropy $100,000 Grant. In addition, the project was part of an industry led internal Roche Global World Cup competition and competed against projects from the Philippines, Argentina, Peru and Thailand. Dr. Brown Broderick’s team won this Roche Global competition, allowing for another $180,000 funding to implement the HPV self-sampling project.

Brooke Bulloch is a Registered Dietitian and CEO at Food to Fit Nutrition. She earned a BSc in Nutrition from the University of Saskatchewan, and her work experience began with the Saskatoon Health Region in 2009. Brooke has been working in private practice for the past 10 years, and today her practice is comprised of a team of 8 dietitians, and 1 social worker. With offices in both Saskatoon and Regina, Brooke and her team support clients in person and online throughout the province. Each practitioner brings unique clinical expertise to the team which include the following areas: gastrointestinal disorders, thyroid conditions, eating disorders, Intuitive Eating, body image counseling, prenatal and infant care, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, fertility, and cardiovascular disease prevention and management. Brooke is an experienced media spokesperson and has been working with media since 2011. Brooke has been featured in a variety of Canadian press including: CBC radio, The Globe and Mail, Huffington Post, Canadian Living, Chatelaine, Cottage Life Magazine, and Inside Fitness. Brooke is a regular guest on Saskatoon’s Global News Morning, and since 2019 she has been contributing content for Co-op’s in store Table Magazine and online Food Blog. Brooke values the importance of an inclusive practice and has dedicated much of her time to learning, listening, advocating, changing systems, collaborating, and giving back to the community. As a working mom and business owner, Brooke values simplicity and sustainability in nutrition planning, along with a curious and flexible non-diet approach to food and eating.

Dr. Marwah has background of extensive work as a Pain Physician and Anesthesiologist (in India) and a degree in Community Health specialising in Addictions and Mental Health from University of Toronto. She has a focused interest in the specialty of Chronic Pain and Opioid Use Disorders and was instrumental in setting up Regina’s Chronic Pain Clinic with its innovative approach of integrating traditional Indigenous healing services with modern conventional medicine. She currently works as an Assistant Clinical Professor and Quality Improvement Lead in Academic Family Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, in Regina and she is the Consulting Pain Physician for the University of Saskatchewan’s Chronic Pain Clinic (formerly called MAC-IOPS program). She also provides service within the Saskatchewan Health Authority at the Harm Reduction Clinic in Regina managing clients with opioid and substance use disorders. Her interests are, spending time with family, travelling, road trips and being outdoors in nature.

Katelyn Halpape completed her undergraduate pharmacy degree at the U of S in 2012, her Hospital Pharmacy Residency in Regina in 2013, and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at UBC in 2015. Katelyn is an Assistant Professor in the areas of psychiatry and neurology with the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the U of S. Katelyn has an active clinical practice at the Dube Centre for Mental Health and is the Clinical Lead for the U of S Chronic Pain Clinic.

Dr. Chan completed medical school at the University of Saskatchewan and his urological surgery training at Western University. He received additional clinical training with a fellowship in reconstructive urology in Melbourne, Australia, where he also practiced prior to returning home. His clinical interests include urethral pathology, urinary incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse. Dr. Chan has recently performed the first sacral neuromodulation for lower urinary tract dysfunction in Saskatchewan. He is currently involved in creating a new GP specialist role in urology for the Saskatoon area. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Chan has presented at numerous international meetings, co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles and abstracts, and serves as a reviewer and section editor for several journals. He has received several research and education grants and is currently enrolling patients for a minimal invasive clinical trial for OAB.
